The company, today AK Steel s.r.l., was founded 1935 as Armco SpA in Genova.

In fall 1999 our parent company Armco Inc. merged with AK Steel, Middletown, Ohio one of the leading US producers of steel mill products for the automotive, household appliances, and construction industry.

It was through this merger that the name Armco SMM s.r.l. was changed to
AK Steel s.r.l. in March 2000.

AK Steel is market leader in the USA for Electrical Steels, Stain- less Chromium sheets, and Stainless Aluminum coated sheets especially for exhaust systems in the Automotive industry.
